Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes Management
Can a doctor help with my diabetes?
The answer to the question is yes, a doctor can help with diabetes. A doctor can help in many different ways. They can provide you with advice on how to change your diet or exercise routine. They can prescribe certain medications that might help. They can also refer you to a specialist for more assistance.
Diabetes is a metabolic disorder characterized by high levels of sugar in the blood. It is categorized into two types: type 1 and type 2.
Type 1 diabetes, also known as juvenile diabetes, is an autoimmune disease that occurs when the body’s immune system attacks and destroys the insulin-producing beta cells of the pancreas.
Type 2 diabetes, also known as adult-onset diabetes, usually develops when a person becomes obese or overweight and doesn’t exercise enough to burn off extra calories.
